<\/p>\nROCKY RIVER, OHIO (WKBN) \u2013 The Rocky River Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards luncheon on September 22 at the Westwood Country Club, after a two-year delay due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

Angela Barth, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, welcomed members and expressed how happy everyone is to be back to a regular schedule of luncheons, events, and community service. She also mentioned that 14 new members have joined the chamber.<\/p>\n
The Northern Ohio Association of Chambers of Commerce Bright Star, beautification, quality business, outstanding new member, and the Northern Ohio Association of Chambers of Commerce Bright Star were all recognized. Each chamber may nominate one member for the Bright Star award who has made a significant impact within the chamber.<\/p>\n
Penny Horton, of The Proficient Office, is this year’s Bright Star.<\/p>\n
Anci Brennan of Tomorrows a Salon received the beauty award. Ground Works Land Design won the quality business award, and Colby Faulder of Northwestern Mutual Insurance was named an outstanding new member.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis award banquet also features an extra-special element,\u201d said Barth, \u201cas we will announce and welcome two new honorary members to the chamber after years of dedication and service.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirst is Sharon Spooner, recently retired, but who put in years of dedication to the chamber. We welcome her back as an honorary member of the chamber.<\/p>\n
\u201cSecond is Donna Kopina, our administrative assistant for 15 years, who retired from the chamber during COVID but who came back to help. We thank her for her dedication.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur awards luncheon is a very special day for the Rocky River Chamber,\u201d Barth said. \u201cWe take a break from our usual structure of guest speakers at luncheons to celebrate our members. It allows us to show appreciation for all they do in our community and their support of our organization.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to work with these members, and a true honor to bestow them with such accolades.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis luncheon shows how cohesive and close-knit this group is, as they applaud and congratulate the award recipients. It highlights how truly special this chamber is.\u201d<\/p>\n
