Candace Carr Strauss has already met dozens of new people, sat down with local officials, gone on a few hikes and experienced first-hand the woes of the local housing market.<\/p>\n

And that was just her first two weeks on the job.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings are going really well,\u201d the new president and CEO of the Sedona Chamber of Commerce said last week. \u201cI had heard about the \u2018Sedona way\u2019 of people being very friendly and welcoming and it\u2019s true. I\u2019ve had a whole lot of folks reach out to me, even before I had gotten here. It continued upon my arrival and I\u2019m meeting new people every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

She replaces Jennifer Wesselhoff, who departed Sedona last October to become president and CEO of the chamber of commerce in Park City, Utah.<\/p>\n

Carr Strauss comes to Sedona after having served as the CEO of the Big Sky Chamber of Commerce & Visit Big Sky, in Big Sky, Mont.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a way, Big Sky and Sedona are sister cities because there are far too many similarities between the two,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s actually kind of crazy how similar they are.\u201d<\/p>\n
