The Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed a new face. Justina Jarrard has been appointed as the new executive director, succeeding Rebecca J. Wallen, who resigned to return to Coughlin Printing Group.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to take a moment to thank our members and the community, it has been an honor and privilege to have served the Carthage area as the Executive Director of the Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce. I have enjoyed bringing events to the area and advocating for our local businesses,\u201d said Mrs. Wallen who worked with the chamber for two years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt is always a sad day to see someone who was doing so well with our local business and expanding our membership leave us. Rebecca will truly be missed but with one closed door another one opens and we have had a great new addition to our chamber with our new Director Justina Jarrard,\u201d said Tina Lanier, chamber president, \u201cJustina has a great social media and marketing background, another great thing about her she is local and knows our area very well. Justina has jumped in feet first and is already making an impact. I am very excited to see what the future holds for the chamber with her guidance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms. Jarrard, a North Country native, is the mother of two children, one of whom recently graduated from Carthage Central High School.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a local girl and I love the area,\u201d said Ms. Jarrard. \u201cI was raised in Brownville and moved to Carthage at the age of 17. I\u2019ve been here the majority of my life since.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ms. Jarrard has extensive media and marketing experience, allowing her to develop strong relationships with numerous North Country businesses and organizations.<\/div>\n

As such she is, \u201cmost excited about the opportunity to be more involved in my local community.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a family gal so most things are done with my children in town. We do a lot of hiking and kayaking. I\u2019m a music lover \u2014 so I\u2019m always looking for ways to appreciate local talent and artistry,\u201d said the new director, this position gave me a chance to \u201cincorporate my passions and experience with an amazing organization while being able to give back to the local community.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Ms. Jarrard has a few important goals for the chamber, most importantly, \u201cawareness\u201d hoping to achieve the most outreach possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI also would like to \u2018shrink the bridge\u2019 so to speak between the twin communities\u201d said the new director with the hope to become \u201can even stronger, united, greater Carthage area.\u201d<\/p>\n
