An introduction

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the main representative of the Bahraini private sector and the voice of the financial and business community with its various activities and sectors, with its legacy spanning more than 80 years. Since its establishment in 1939 AD, the Chamber’s role has evolved in quantity and quality as the oldest Chamber of Commerce in the region, as it has kept pace with all the stages of economic and social growth and development that the Kingdom of Bahrain has experienced and witnessed by the world over the years. This role has increased and diversified with the growth of business sectors and their increasing importance in the structure of the national economy.

The various services of the room

  • Defending the interests of members and the private sector with the official authorities, proposing laws and regulations that are in the interest of the sector, and representing them in relevant local, regional and international committees, bodies and unions in a way that contributes to improving the services provided to its members
  • Benefiting from the results of field surveys prepared through questionnaires related to the business sectors, proposing recommendations developed for them, and coordinating with the relevant official authorities
  • Issuance of temporary admission cards to facilitate the passage of goods without incurring insurance costs
  • Holding consultative meetings and workshops for developing the private sector and coordinating with regional and international chambers to develop import, export and franchising operations
  • Granting and approving certificates of origin and source.
  • Attesting the certificates of introducing the merchants, the capacity and identity of the delegates, the signatures of the concerned parties, the seals, the validity of commodity invoices and all other commercial and industrial certificates
  • Providing members with commercial and investment opportunities presented to the Chamber, and providing statistics, information, reports and research related to different sectors, in addition to analytical economic studies prepared through coordination with the competent government agencies
  • Renting the rooms of the Chamber’s building to hold meetings and meetings for the institutions and companies that are members of the Chamber at competitive prices
  • Participate in exhibitions, conferences, local and foreign events, and trade delegations, and introduce them to investment opportunities
  • Attending bilateral meetings organized by the Chamber with foreign trade delegations visiting Bahrain and benefiting from joint investment and commercial opportunities and projects with their counterparts from other countries
  • Offering solutions and adopting the commercial and investment issues faced by Bahraini business owners on the agenda of the meetings of international committees and joint business councils, seeking to overcome them and enabling them to work comfortably with their counterparts in the concerned countries
  • Providing assistance to members during their trips and business visits to countries and chambers all over the world by providing them with identification certificates, lists of potential customers and suppliers and data of their counterparts in various sectors and other services
  • Eligibility for affiliates for the possibility of participating and winning tender contracts for projects proposed by the Chamber
  • Informing members of cases of bans on importing and trading harmful goods, the risks of institutional bankruptcy, warning of fictitious companies, and raising awareness of fraud cases for individuals and companies to spare them exposure to harm and falling into financial or legal cases
  • Participation in the Chamber’s general assembly meetings to adopt the members’ views and communicate them to state officials.
  • Providing guidance to small and medium enterprises and helping them to expand and grow and overcome the difficulties they encounter to develop their capabilities and increase their competitiveness.
  • Candidacy for membership of the Board of Directors and participation in the various committees formed by the Chamber.
  • Providing technical advice to small and medium enterprises in various fields such as feasibility studies, business plans, marketing, law, accounting and quality, to help them expand, grow and overcome the difficulties they encounter to develop their capabilities and increase their competitiveness.
  • Providing legal opinion on draft laws and proposals, as desired, referred to the Chamber by the legislative authority, in coordination with the permanent committees related to the members in relation to their work and activities.
  • Providing legal advice on issues related to business sectors and providing related laws.
  • Expressing legal opinion on contracts and agreements concluded by members of the Chamber with the contracting parties at the request of these members.
  • Carry out settlement and conciliation in commercial disputes that are submitted to the Chamber with the agreement of the stakeholders, whether through the Legal Affairs Department or through the arbitration committee and the settlement of commercial disputes.
  • Marketing the events and activities organized by the Chamber and in which members participate on social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Flickr and YouTube)  @BCCIBAHRAIN .
  • Presenting media information about the Chamber and the private sector to various media outlets to highlight it and maximize its impact.
  • Providing members with electronic media materials and archive services such as images, visual, audio and printed materials.
  • Shedding light on the problems and obstacles facing the economic sectors in order to highlight them in the media.
  • Enhancing the presence of the Bahraini merchant on all written, audio and visual media, as well as on social media
