It was in March 2001 that Commerce International Québec (CIQ) was created. The network was born out of the desire of ORPEX s to come together to share their expertise and certain resources in order to better meet the needs of the companies they serve.

The first regional export promotion organizations (ORPEX) were created in the 1990s at the initiative of the provincial and federal governments.

Since then, Commerce International Québec has provided support to ORPEXs that are active in helping Québec companies develop their exports.

Assignment

Commerce International Québec is the network that brings together regional export promotion organizations (ORPEX), located throughout Québec, in order to represent their interests at the provincial and federal levels and to allow them to exchange their best practices in business, helping to promote their expertise in international trade.
