About The Fédération Française de la Couture

The Federation numbers some one hundred members, amongst whom feature the most emblematic brands on the global stage. It comprises three Chambres Syndicales or central bodies (Haute Couture, Women’s and Men’s Fashion).

The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode brings together fashion brands that foster creation and international development. It seeks to promote French fashion culture, where Haute Couture and creation have a major impact by combining traditional know how and contemporary technology at all times. It contributes to bolstering Paris in its role as worldwide fashion capital in particular coordinating Paris Fashion Week®.

MISSION AND PURPOSES

The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode brings together fashion brands that foster creation and international development. It seeks to promote French fashion culture, where Haute Couture and creation have a major impact by combining traditional know how and contemporary technology at all times. It contributes to bolstering Paris in its role as worldwide fashion capital.

GOVERNANCE

The Federation is chaired for a 4 years duration. It is composed of an Executive committee, a Board of Management and is organized in 3 syndical chambers. The Haute couture one is at the foundation of the Federation and celebrates this year its 150 years.

HISTORY

On June 29th 2017 the Fédération, historical institution changed name and became the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. A clear and contemporary name which reflects its international influence, its opening to new borders of fashion and especially the paramount character of Haute couture.

SERVICES

The Federation as an official institution oversees awareness initiatives and deals with social partners. It provides to its members, maisons and emerging brands, with information, advice and accompanies them thematically in a dynamic of expertise and innovation with the help of its partners (Première Vision, Fabernovel, La Redoute, RSM). The Federation oversees the training of young generations, to ensure excellence in skills. In doing so it contributes to strengthening Paris as global capital of fashion. The Federation also coordinates the Paris Fashion Week® key moment for the whole fashion industry.
