The Japanese Restaurant Association held its inaugural meeting in November of 1958 where Eichi Ogawa of Fujita Kanko Inc. was appointed as the first president of the association. In December of the following year, the association was approved as the General Incorporated Association Japan Restaurant Association by the Ministry of Transport (the current Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism). With deep gratitude for the support of all those involved, this year now marks the 60th anniversary of the association.
