After the victory of the War of Independence and after the proclamation of the Republic, the State began to embrace the wounds of the nation that created this victory for the sake of wealth and blood and to produce policies to ensure economic development. Accordingly, the status and activities of the chambers of commerce came to the fore. The duties of the chambers of commerce were increased and their powers were expanded. Trade chambers of the country, trade and industry events, import and export follow-up were among the duties of the chambers of commerce. In parallel, a chamber of commerce was established in 1926 in Kahramanmaraş. Maras Chamber of Commerce, until then, the trades organizations, in accordance with the Tradesman Registry Regulation was re-formed.
