The current Chamber was incorporated on 18 February 1987 with the NSW Department of Fair Trading.
However, the TGHN collective business activities go back to the mid-1800s when local shipping companies, mill owners and farmers lobbied together to open up the Myall River by dredging, as well as building a public wharf and better amenities.
These still are important sustainment challenges, with the Chamber also supporting tourism and the economic, community, and cultural wellbeing of the Myall Coast.
