The Public Warehouse Organization (PWO) was established by the Royal Decree in 1955, and since then all properties, assets, rights, liabilities and business as well as the officials under the Warehouse Division were transfered to the Public Warehouse Organization. During the Second World War, the prices of essencial consumer goods increased rapidly which led to the people’s hardship. The government at that time assigned the Ministry of Commerce to seek urgent measures to solve such problems. Thus “the Central Warehouse Tower” was established in 1942 under the authority of the Department of Internal Trade to be the instrument to stabilize the market price of consumer products.
