“Ho Chi Minh Japanese friendship Club” was established at the end of 1993 for Japanese local companies and was renamed to “Japanese Commerce and Industry of Ho Chi Minh City” (JCIA) on April 1, 1994 along with the expansion of the organization.

There were 69 corporate members as of April 15, 1994 and we started to register with Vietnamese government as well as expand the range of our activities.

On May 17, 1998, the organization name was changed to The Japanese Business Association of Ho Chi Minh City and on Sep 28, 1998 was accepted by Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee as an official organization accompanied with American, Australian and British Chamber of Commerce.

Our philosophy is “To contribute to the development of Vietnamese economy, expand and promote the normal economical activities between Japan and Vietnam”, and we keep working on it.

4 major activities of JCCH

– Exchange information and promote friendship between members

The members of JCCH work proactively with the philosophy of “JCCH for the members by the members”. The fundamental activities are functioned mainly by business groups. We often hold seminars on investment promotion, taxation, labor and employment; thereby our members can update the information of new laws and exchange their opinions about the related issue.

– Improvement of investment and business environment

JCCH make various proposals and requests to the Vietnamese government. Starting from the round table with Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, JCCH also hold opinion exchange meetings with the People’s Committee of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Long An.

– Cooperation to the Japanese Society

Because Vietnamese government still restricts the free establishment of associations, JCCH support the operation of the Japanese school and the part time Japanese school, as well as contribute to sports / cultural activities and help to maintain the healthcare and safety of the Japanese residents.

– Contribution to the Vietnamese society and enhance the culture exchange

JCCH support various cultural exchange programs such as Charity bazaar, Scholarship awarding and Japanese speech contest. Sales of the bazaar and donations from our corporate members are donated to hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and used for medical treatment of the disabled children.
