It’s time for the Prince William Chamber of Commerce to choose a new slate of members for its Board of Directors.

A list of nominees for the 2021/2022 year was sent to chamber members.

The following individual has been nominated for a leadership position by the 2020/2021 Board of Directors:

  • Gary L. Jones, II, The Fauquier Bank now Virginia National Bank—Chair-Elect Nominee
  • Dr. Stephen Smith, Novant Health UVA Health System—Secretary
  • Marty Nohe, Appliance Connection—Treasurer

The following individuals have been nominated by the 2020-2021 Board of Directors for appointment to a three-year term to begin on July 1, 2021:

  • Xiao-Yin Byrom, Tang’s Alterations – Bridal / Bespoke
  • Gary Corbett, Able Moving & Storage Inc.
  • Russ Gestl, Buchanan Partners
  • Michael Houston, Houston Consulting Group & Associates, LLC
  • Bill Karlson, KO Distilling
  • Ian Lovejoy, Reliant Hiring Solutions
  • Traci Morris-Cole, I-95 Business Parks Management, LLC/Mid-Atlantic Acquisition, LLC
  • Sherman Patrick, Compton & Duling, L.C.
  • Amy Tanner, United Bank
  • Charlene Wilkins, Northern Virginia Community College – Woodbridge

Some important information to know on how the Chamber selects its new Board members.

  • Prince William Chamber’s Board of Directors regularly has between 32 and 51 members.
  • Each member serves up to two consecutive three-year terms.
  • The candidates for the Board of Directors are selected by a sub-committee of the Board.
  • The General Membership is given an opportunity to submit nominations for the Board of Directors by submitting a petition with 25 Chamber Members who support them as potential candidates.
  • Nomination by petition closes June 1, a total of 20 days prior to the induction of new officers.
  • The final ballot for the Board of Directors will be open from June 11 till June 22.
  • The Board of Directors shall be composed of no fewer than 31 and no more than fifty-one 51 members.
  • The Prince William Chamber of Commerce is looking to re-elect six Board Members for a second three-year term and four new members of the Board of Directors.
  • Additionally, one member will be appointed to the Executive Committee as Secretary and the Chamber Membership will vote for the 2023-2024 Chair of the Board who will serve one year as the Chair-Elect and one year as the Chair-Elect Nominee prior to the chairmanship.
  • The Induction of new officers will occur during the Annual Meeting on June 24th from 4-7 at the Farm Brewery at Broad Run. All are welcome to attend.

Members of the chamber will vote for their new Prince William Chamber Board of Directors in June.

Incoming 2021-2022 Board Chair Gayle Whitlock, of Whitlock Wealth Management, along with the 2022-2023 Chair-Elect, Rick Nishanian, of Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian, P.C. were elected in previous years.

Once the election is complete, the chamber will hold an annual meeting on June 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Farm Brewery, 10615 John Marshal Highway in Broad Run. There, chamber members will get to meet the new board at the event dubbed “Unmasking the Future.”

The Prince William Chamber of Commerce represents nearly 70,000 employees of businesses in the Washington, D.C. area
