EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ—In September 2017, I was asked to join Mayor Cohen and 20+ East Brunswick area business owners and representatives at the Colonial Diner. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the formation of the new and revitalized East Brunswick Regional Chamber of Commerce (EBRCC).
On October 12, 2022, the EBRCC President’s Award Gala will be held at the Park Chateau, a current Chamber member. The Gala was a night of celebration for members, with special recognition given to the volunteer committee members who are in charge of the EBRCC’s daily operations. Ambassador, By-Laws, Events, Membership, Nominations, and Social Media/Website are the committees. The EBRCC now has over 200 businesses as members.
The previous year’s Board of Directors and Executive Board were recognized, and the positions for the current year were announced. I am personally honored to begin my fifth year as a member of the Board of Directors.
The EBRCC is grateful to the businesses that sponsored the Gala. Special thanks to the Gold and Silver sponsors, Davis Realtors, Park Chateau Estate and Gardens, Big Apple Academy, and Northfield Bank. Peak Environmental, East Brunswick Youth Tennis, Lindsay S. Dobrynski Esq., Prudential (Maggy Lu, Financial Advisor), Volk Insurance Group LLC, and Mutual of Omaha sponsored the Round Table and Friends of EBRCC.
Following two rounds of voting, awards were given to local businesses and non-profit organizations.
They are as follows:
- Excellence in Retail – Brunswick Square Mall
- Excellence in Service – Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge Medical Center
- Excellence in Dining – Colonial Diner
- Outstanding Non-Profit – East Brunswick Public Library
- Excellence in Community Service – Aldersgate Community Outreach Center
- Family Favorite – Lakeview Day Camp
- Small Business of the Year – ELITE Fitness Alliance
- Top Gun Award – Joe Kim
- Corporate Citizen – Maggy Lu
- Chamber Member of the Year – Ronnie Li
There was a lot of joy and celebration in the room, with lots of good food, dancing, and fun. Non-chamber members commented that the positive energy was contagious.
I had no idea how much fun, rewarding, and educational being a member of the EBRCC would be when I first joined in 2017. I’ve learned a lot and formed many professional and personal relationships.
New members are always welcome to join us. For more information, please visit ebrcc.com and be sure to check out our event calendar.
