The ninth edition of the Gulf International Congress was held in the UAE on December 8-9, 2022, and was organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

The two days were marked by speeches from the most qualified speakers and experts in tax and legal legislation that governs activities in the country.

According to the organizers, this year’s participation record was broken with 543 registered lawyers and accountants, 144 of whom participated live in the works and 399 of whom watched the Congress on Zoom at the same time.

The Representatives, i.e., professionals recognized by the chamber, will act as “Quality Ambassadors” of the UAE for Italian companies, advising and accompanying them commercially in the UAE with the support of the chamber.

Two networking evenings were also organized at the end of the respective working days, highlighting the Gala Dinner and Awards, which were held in the presence of 220 guests at the Palazzo Versace Dubai.

The evening began with an official greeting from Lorenzo Fanara, the Italian Ambassador to the UAE, followed by the presentation of bronze plaques.

The most awaited award came from an Italian firm that has made a name for itself in the UAE: the Studio of Architect Alessio Belloni for the Khor Fakkan mega-project, which will recreate the characteristics of the Five Cities and Portofino over an area of 605,000 square meters. Fanara presented the award, which was followed by the selection of the three “Best Chamber Representatives of 2022.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Qassimi, honorary president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, was introduced by Mauro Marzocchi, secretary general of the chamber, who was awarded for his commitment to the chamber by Stefano Campagna, president of the chamber, who expressed his gratitude.
