Muscat, Oman – On Monday, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, launched a commercial franchise program in Muscat, which will be expanded to other governorates later.
H E Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, attended the launch, which was also attended by Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI.
The program, which will run until February 23, aims to educate business owners as well as qualify and develop Omani companies to take advantage of commercial franchising opportunities. This will be accomplished by holding seminars and workshops on commercial franchising in the chamber’s governorate branches.
Eng Hamoud bin Salim al Saadi, Chairman, OCCI branch in South Batinah, said, “The chamber seeks, through the programme, to support Omani companies to become franchisees or to enable them to reach franchisees. The programme also aims to establish companies specialised in commercial franchising and organise the work mechanism between the parties according to the best experiences in the field field.”
