In the face of modern challenges, it is critical to establish reliable manufacturing collaboration ties. According to BelTA, Sergei Nabeshko, Director General of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Minsk branch, made the statement during an international forum on economic cooperation commemorating the 955th anniversary of Minsk.
Sergei Nabeshko said: “Nowadays every economic forum takes place bearing in mind external changes and external challenges. It is obvious that regretfully sanctions and the resulting processes are the headliner of today’s forum. Logistic, financial, and manufacturing cooperation chains are being disrupted. Problems with maintaining the established mutual relations are being encountered. On the other hand, the situation gives a stimulus towards an active response to these challenges.”
The official stressed that the importance of decisions that had been made to localize manufacturing and ensure its self-sufficiency is becoming obvious today. “The private sector should be focused on its own capabilities as much as possible. Today it is insufficient to simply buy or sell stuff. It is important to establish reliable manufacturing cooperation ties with primarily import substitution in mind. The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is doing its utmost to assist the private sector with it,” Sergei Nabeshko noted.
Today is the International Forum on Economic Cooperation in the National Library of Belarus. It is timed to coincide with the 955th anniversary of the capital city of Belarus. A display of Minsk’s industrial sector has also been set up outside the library. It includes items from MTZ, MAZ, Amkodor, and Belkommunmash.
