MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) –There are many areas that may be of interest to businesses in Belarus and Pakistan, according to Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI), during the Belarusian-Pakistani business meeting organized by the BelCCI in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), BelTA learned from the BelCCI’s press service.

Denis Meleshkin stated that cooperation with Pakistan through chambers of commerce and industry has been actively developing in recent years, contributing to new business contacts. The Belarusian-Pakistani Business Council, the next meeting of which is scheduled for Minsk in the first quarter of 2023, is an effective tool for expanding bilateral trade and economic partnership.

“There are many areas that may be of interest to business of Belarus and Pakistan. Belarus is an export-oriented state with well-developed industry, agriculture and the services sector. Our country has a competitive investment and tax climate, a number of preferential regimes that can be very useful for foreign companies, including from the point of view of their tax planning and optimization,” he said, expressing the hope that the business meeting and the visit to Belarus in general will enable the Pakistani delegation to learn more about the country’s capabilities and make sure that Belarus is a reliable partner for a long-term perspective, will results in new contracts between enterprises and organizations.

“At the same time, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will make every effort to ensure a fruitful and substantive business dialogue between our countries,” Denis Meleshkin assured.

Representatives of Belarusian and Pakistani companies discussed the possibilities of establishing and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in food and light industries, pharmaceuticals, woodworking, construction, transport and logistics, tourism, IT, and other sectors during the business meeting and B2B negotiations, which took place at the end of the plenary session.
