The Penrith Valley Chamber of Commerce has been assisting local businesses since 1927 and is rapidly approaching its 100th anniversary.
The delivery of the Western Sydney International Airport, which will transform the city and region, is one of the game-changing opportunities on the horizon for Penrith and western Sydney.
Richard Fox, who also works as a consultant for Paddle Australia, said he is honored and excited to be elected as the new Chamber President, succeeding Kate Rafton, who has led the Chamber for the past two years and is responsible for the successful Lights on Penrith business events.
The role of the Chamber is to connect and collaborate with the local and larger business community, to represent the region’s interests to key stakeholders, and to advocate for sustainable growth and creative change.
Penrith City Council made it public last week. Last week, Penrith City Council launched its Invest Penrith prospectus, which outlines the city’s future with strategic centers, connected transportation infrastructure, and improved liveability via soon-to-be-completed revitalisation projects such as the riverside Regatta Park.
At the same time, the city’s business sector is expanding, bringing new hospitality destinations, conference facilities, business parks, tourist attractions, and lodging to the region.
Thousands of jobs have been created as a result of these investments, and more are on the way as we anticipate the next release of business, leisure, and lifestyle opportunities in the Penrith Lakes precinct.
This burgeoning economy is everyone’s concern, which is why the Chamber is working with government agencies, other business networks, and local councils in Greater Western Sydney to raise the destination and liveability profile of the region. Equally important is ensuring that the Penrith Valley’s businesses and wider community are “airport ready” for the anticipated first landing and direct rail link to St Marys and Penrith.
More events at the Penrith Lakes precinct, such as the 2025 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships at a newly upgraded Olympic Whitewater course, will provide opportunities to showcase the city, valley, and region to an Australian and global audience.
It’s time to connect with your local chamber of commerce if you own a business in Penrith.
