The Jerusalem Chamber of Commerce’s (Jerccom) Türkiye office has begun operations with the goal of strengthening commercial and trade ties between the two countries as part of their normalization efforts.
According to a statement issued by the Türkiye office, the newly established office will organize B2B-B2C meetings and establish ties between industrial zones and exporters’ associations.
The Jerccom Türkiye office will also collaborate with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, as well as the defense industry and trade associations.

According to the statement, the Türkiye office will aid in the development of the domestic market and trade.
This week, President Recep Tayyip Erdoan and Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid met on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on September 20 for the first face-to-face talks between Israeli and Turkish leaders since 2008.
Israel appointed an ambassador to Turkey earlier this month, signaling the full normalization of the bilateral relationship with Ankara after nearly four years.
Since late 2021, Turkey and Israel have been engaged in a reconciliation process with the goal of mending strained relations between the two regional neighbors.
In the January-July period, Israel was one of the top 20 export markets for Turkish goods. Exports to Israel increased 24.6 percent year on year to $4.2 billion in the first seven months of the year, accounting for 2.9 percent of total export revenues. During the same time period, Israel’s imports totaled $1.3 billion.
According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Turkey exports primarily vehicles, iron and steel, electrical machinery and equipment to Israel and imports mineral oils, propylene polymers, machinery, and mechanical appliances.
