The Punjabi Chamber of Commerce (PCC) held its Global Gala on October 29, 2022, at the Hilton Meadowlands in New Jersey. The Gala was PCC’s most important event of the year.
It celebrated the gathering of more than 500 members from around the world, “highlighting the remarkable efforts of business leaders and entrepreneurs in the Punjabi community,” according to a press release from the organization.
Jyoti Soni, the event curator, decorated the venue in rich warm colors of red and gold. Following a cocktail hour of networking with delicacies from Moghul Caterers, attendees moved to the Grand Ballroom, where Gurpreet S. Pasricha, founding trustee of PCC, addressed the audience, followed by other distinguished speakers.
Inderpal Bhandari, IBM’s Global Chief Data Officer, gave an interactive talk about data, digitalization, and artificial intelligence, as well as his experience leading IBM’s data strategy, which helped the company become the number one AI and hybrid cloud provider.
Savneet Singh, an award-winning software/SaaS CEO with expertise in retail, fintech, and payments, was the evening’s keynote speaker. Savneet began as a non-executive director, serving on the audit and compensation committees. Later, he became CEO of the company to begin the turnaround from a distressed situation.
Joti Balani, founder and managing director of Freshriver.ai, was an inspiring woman speaker for the evening. She is a creative technology architect who leads innovations at Fortune 100 enterprises, designing and delivering complex enterprise, human, and systemic transformations. She delivered an enthralling presentation on artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, and the social sciences.
The final speaker was Trishneet Arora, founder and CEO of TAC Security and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree. He began his entrepreneurial journey in 2013 at the age of 19 and is passionate about securing cyberspace. TAC Security has since secured the world’s most recognizable brands under his leadership. Shilpy Chawla was the event’s emcee.
Jazzy B, a popular musician, provided entertainment at the event, engaging the audience with his foot-tapping Punjabi music: Gallan Kardi, Soorma, Patole, and so on. DJ Kucha also kept the party going with his announcements and music.
The Punjabi Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization that uses a Network Forum to connect global and local business communities. It now has over 18 chapters spread across five countries and four continents.
During the pandemic, the Punjabi Chamber Foundation, the organization’s charitable arm, raised funds to assist people in India and around the world. “We have a strict ‘No religion, No politics’ policy in place,” the organization said in a press release. “We believe in diversity and inclusion.”
