TX WOODLANDS— On Friday, September 30th, the Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce gathered more than 200 business leaders at The Woodlands Country Club to celebrate their 44th Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon.

Members and guests gathered to celebrate the Chamber’s 2021-2022 year and recognize volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional support to help further the Chamber’s mission and strengthen the business community.

J.J. Hollie, President & CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, spoke about The Chamber’s accomplishments in the previous fiscal year and expressed his commitment to serving businesses, driving economic growth, and expanding The Chamber’s role in the community.

“I would like to say a big thank you to our members, volunteers, and board of directors who have helped make this year a success. It is truly inspiring to see them all serve with such joyful spirits. We continue to see our members build positive relationships with each other and advocate for the business community.” JJ Hollie, President & CEO of The Woodlands Chamber.

The retiring Board of Directors and Team Leaders for 2021-2022 were honored for their contributions to the Chamber. Members who had been members for 20-40 years were also honored for their dedication.

The announcement of the Chamber’s annual specialty award recipients was the event’s high point.

  • David Deveau of Woodforest Wealth Strategies received the Diplomat of the Year award.
  • Curtis Null, Superintendent of Conroe ISD, was named Community Citizen of the Year, and Margie Taylor of Taylorized PR was named Chamber Volunteer of the Year.
  • Nicole Preston of the Community Impact Newspaper-The Woodlands was named Top Influencer Under 40.
  • Ann Wolford of The Wolford Group received the Chairman’s Award.
  • A Legacy Award was given to Michael Richmond for his contributions to The Woodlands’ craftsmanship.

J.J. Hollie concluded the awards ceremony by thanking Julie Ambler of The Woodlands Christian Academy for serving as our 2021-2022 Chairman of the Board for a year. “This past year, Julie Ambler was a driving force in The Chamber’s success and assisted us in exceeding our annual budgetary goal,” Hollie said.

This year’s event was underwritten by the Richmond Realty Group. San Jacinto River Authority, The Howard Hughes Corporation, The Koch Insurance Group, The Woodlands Christian Academy, Heightened Leaders, Market Street, and Memorial Hermann were among the other sponsors. Woodforest National Bank, Blanton Advisors, LLC., Caldwell Companies, SVN | J.
