About Dawn Farrell

As President and CEO, Dawn Farrell is responsible for leading the expansion of Canada’s only pipeline system transporting crude oil and refined products to the West Coast. Purposefully balancing regulatory processes and relationship-building with key stakeholders, she is accountable for leading the organization to completion of the expansion project while steering the next phase of the company’s future.

Dawn has spent over 39 years in the energy business and held a variety of positions, including senior executive roles at B.C. Hydro and most recently, President and CEO of TransAlta. As CEO for more than nine years at TransAlta, she led the transformation of the company to a competitive power focused on low-cost, clean and reliable solutions for large commercial and industrial customers.

Dawn has served on several industry and not-for-profit boards during her career and is currently the Chair of the Board for The Chemours Company and a member of the Board at Portland General Electric. She is also the Chancellor for Mount Royal University.
