The Female Focus networking series was started in 2014 by the SCCL and the NCCL, and with the support of the Swedish and Norwegian Embassies in Latvia. Female Focus is inspired by Scandinavian values and introduces speakers with different professional backgrounds inspiring both head & heart sharing their experience on relevant topics such as leadership, entrepreneurship, meeting professional and private challenges, and work & life balance.

Anne Sigrun Moen, Group Executive Vice President of People at DNB

Anne Sigrun Moen is the Group Executive Vice President of People at DNB, the largest bank in Norway. She had been in her position since 2021 and in DNB since 2007, with a break for three years in the position as HR director in the Norwegian Tax Authority. She has worked with Det Norske Veritas and in the public school system and holds a Masters degree in Educational Science from University of Oslo.

In her current role at DNB, Anne Sigrun is responsible for overseeing the company’s human resources strategy and operations. This includes talent acquisition, learning & development, performance management, and compensation and benefits. She also plays a key role in shaping the company’s culture and promoting diversity and inclusion.

Marija Ābeltiņa, Psychologist, Scientist, Practitioner

Marija got her PhD studying the phenomenon of professional burnout and wrote a bestseller book about it in Latvian. Marija was one of the first in Latvia to obtain the qualification of CBT and Schema psychotherapist, enabling people to receive evidence-based help. Marija worked for 10 years at the Crisis and Consultation Center in “Skalbes” with people and organizations in crisis situations. Currently works in private practice, and has been active for almost 20 years.

Throughout her life, she has stood for mental health, being active in the media, and promoting public awareness of various mental health issues. Has helped reduce people’s suffering and diminish self-criticism and abusive relationships in the home and work settings. She continues to believe that we can be kind to ourselves and others and increase our common well-being!

In her private life, Maria has been just as persistent in pursuing her dreams as in her professional life. And at the age of 45, she experienced great happiness – she became the mother of a wonderful son!
