The Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon (CCIA-BML) is a non-profit private organization working for the public benefit.

Established in 1887, the CCIA-BML is the main among the four Lebanese Chambers that operate based on Decree Law 36/67 enacted in 1967. The Lebanese Chambers are the sole providers of consular services to members, which include certification of origin and authentication of commercial documents.

The membership roster of the Chamber includes around 15000 enterprises mostly located in the area of Beirut and Mount Lebanon where the major economic activity is concentrated.

Strategy

The CCIA-BML aims for stimulating the economic activity enabling thus sectorial operators contribute to the development of a strong and competitive national economy.

Role

At the macroeconomic level, the CCIA-BML advocates the interests of the private sector, contributes to the formulation of economic policies and to the elaboration of legislation that impacts business activity, develops partnership and dialogue between the business sector and the government.

At the microeconomic level, the Chamber provides a broad array of services to enterprises: consular services, carnets ATA and TRI, training, economic reports & publications, economic delegations, business development projects with EU, matchmaking events, exhibitions, arbitration and mediation, and so on.

At the level of corporate social responsibility, the Chamber has strong partnerships with the associations and organizations of the private sector and civil society that cover youth employment, environment, education, women empowerment, integration, health, culture, art, sport and other related spaces.

The Chamber serves as a model of openness and global cooperation; it has developed over the years a dynamic presence on regional and international scene, and expanded its relations to reach out to different countries and international institutions.

The CCIA-BML head office is conveniently located in Central Beirut and houses a research center, arbitration and mediation Center, training facilities and business club. The CCIA-BML operates three branches in Jounieh, Baakline and Sin El Fil.
