CGEM is the voice of the private sector in Morocco. Created in 1947, it represents more than 90,000 direct and affiliated members, 95% of which are VSMEs.

It has established itself as the official representative of the private sector with public authorities, social partners and institutions.

Our mission

The CGEM carries the voice of the private sector by representing it, defending its interests at regional, national and international levels and by working for a business climate favorable to the act of entrepreneurship.

National Business Council

Adopting the rules of procedure on the proposal of the Board of Directors, the National Company Council decides on requests for outsourcing from internal Federations in the event of an objection from the Board of Directors. This Council has the role of an advisory body where opinions, remarks and recommendations are expressed concerning all questions of interest to the CGEM, particularly those relating to general policy as decided by the Board of Directors.

General Assembly

The General Assembly meets at least once a year and elects the President of the CGEM every three years. It decides on the report of the Office of the Confederation and hears the report of the Auditor. Supreme body, it brings together all the members to assess the actions carried out during an exercise.

CGEM GROUP IN THE CHAMBER OF COUNCILORS

Since October 2015, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) has had a parliamentary group in the House of Councillors.

Composed of eight seats, the “CGEM Group” works with all the components of the Chamber of Councilors with the aim of defending the development of Moroccan business, in accordance with the line of conduct that the Confederation has set itself.

Determined to make an active contribution to the legislative life of Morocco and to make the voice of Moroccan business heard in Parliament, the CGEM, via its parliamentary group, actively participates in the governance and work of the Standing Committees of the Chamber counselors.

The purpose of the CGEM Foundation for Business
(“Foundation”) is, in particular, to:

contribute to the financing of strategic studies commissioned by the CGEM and covered by its purpose;
participate in the organization of seminars, conferences or study days covered by the object of the CGEM;
support the CGEM in the pursuit of the missions assigned to it by its statutes and by its governance bodies.
