The Value of Membership
The Mission of the Greater Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce is to promote the positive environment of the Greater Miracle Mile area, and to enhance the business success of our members through relationships, networking and mixers. We deliver value to our members through information, advocacy and service.
“Our business is your business” is the motto of the Greater Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber provides members with a variety of tools in which to grow their business. These include the luncheon meetings on the second Thursday of each month, evening socials, a business directory, website tools, referrals, and networking.At the meeting, new members receive a special introduction, and networking follows, giving each attendee a chance to promote their businesses. We also have keynote speakers as well as informational and educational speakers for your business.
A Brief History
In the 1970s, Miracle Mile was no longer a thriving retail center where customers populated the floors of The Broadway, Desmonds, Ohrbach’s, Silverwoods or Harris & Frank. Instead, for lease and vacant signs dotted Wilshire Blvd. between La Brea and Fairfax avenues.
By the 1990s, Stephen Kramer an attorney with offices in the heart of the Miracle Mile, saw the need for the area’s revitalization. What better way to help business owners than to restart the dormant Chamber of Commerce to bring back Miracle Mile’s luster. Kramer convened an initial meeting with other attorneys in his office to brainstorm on a course of action. They agreed that the Chamber of Commerce should be resurrected, and in 1996 the first meeting was held.
Who We Serve / Our Services
Business Directory – Annually, the Chamber publishes the Business Referral Directory, listing the names, addresses, numbers and categories of member businesses. The directory is distributed to all Chamber members, new area businesses, residents and visitors upon request.
Website – A responsive site with special member pages, events, resources and a free listing for all Chamber members in the business directory of our website. The list is updated monthly to include new and renewing members.
Business Referral System – Chamber staff give referrals to Chamber businesses in response to telephone, personal and written inquiries.
