GNPCC is the leading organization representing the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Business Community. Our single voice strengthens the engagement among all industries to achieve a common goal, to serve our region positively.
GNPCC leads our regional businesses and community by establishing relationships to create competitive advantages for sustainable economic development, provide advocacy by representing our members in city and state political affairs, and connect leaders, developing a coalition to execute the community’s vision.
A Brief History
The Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GNPCC) has been in existence since 1922. It was formed as a private business organization dedicated to the success of the burgeoning Northeast Philadelphia community and the free enterprise system. In early 1922 a group of area business leaders met at the venerable Frankford Trust Company to discuss forming a business support organization.
According to Manor College teacher Matthew Smalarz, in the early twentieth century, “Philadelphia’s elected officials embraced the City Beautiful Movement intending to improve the city’s infrastructure and attract affluent suburbanites to downtown Philadelphia.”

WHAT DOES THE GNPCC DO?
It brings small and large businesses together to network, develop and improve business relationships. Its basic function is that of economic development. The Chamber represents business and professional interests before elected bodies, serves as a catalyst for growth and promotes the area’s residential and commercial assets.
