Iğdır is located in Erzurum-Kars section of Eastern Anatolia Region. The northern and northeastern borders of the province are the Aras River and the Armenian border along the river bed. The eastern and southeastern borders of the province are Nakhichevan and Iran, the southern border is Ağrı and the western and northwestern provinces are Kars. Iğdır is the only province of our country that has border crossing with three countries. From these gates, only the border crossing with Nakhchivan Mukhtar Republic of Azerbaijan is open.
