- To promote and encourage trade, investment and other economic relations between Indonesia and Canada, particularly in the private sector;
- To represent, in an objective manner, the views, interests and concerns of members of the Chamber;
- To assist in the promotion of inter-cultural relations between the people of Indonesia and Canada;
A Brief History
In the year 2000, several of the international chambers of commerce in Indonesia came together as an informal group (the International Business Forum) to discuss issues common to foreign investors in Indonesia. The aim was to present a stronger, more unified lobbying voice to the Government of Indonesia.
This informal grouping has now become a more formal organization, better able to organize itself and communicate with member chambers. It is now known as the International Business Chamber, and shares a secretariat with the American Chamber of Commerce.
