Our Mission

At the IJCC we have a simple mission. To be the foremost business network for Irish and Japanese companies & professionals.

How do we do this?

The Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce (IJCC) carries out its mandate in a variety of ways including:

  • Organising speaker events, seminars and networking events in Tokyo and elsewhere
  • Lobbying and supporting the enhancement of Ireland-Japan business and trade
  • Providing a forum in which to raise issues of interest to the Japan-Ireland business community
  • Publishing information of value to our members via newsletters, social media or by other media.

The Ambassador of Ireland to Japan is the Patron of the Chamber.

The Chamber works for its members through a variety of regular activities and works closely with the Embassy of Ireland and other Ireland-related institutions.

The Chamber is a stakeholder in the European Business Council in Japan, the trade policy arm of the European Chambers and business organisations in Japan.

The IJCC is a not-for-profit organisation managed by its Members through a Board of Directors chaired by the Chamber’s President. The Chamber has a number of sectoral committees which are chaired by a member of the Board of Directors. All membership funds are used for the operation of the Chamber.

The Chamber welcomes applications for membership from any company or individual with an interest in the Japan-Ireland business relationship. Membership is available in the following categories: Corporate, Professional, Associate / International and Student. The IJCC also has a number of Platinum Partners who provide extra financial support to the work of the Chamber.
