The Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established on 18 December 1886 (6 Law and 1302) under the name of the Mersin Trade Council. In the first election, Hasib Bey was elected as the chairman, Hacı Ali Saydavi, Abdullah Merzuk, Haralambos Şatır and Salyanzade İbrahim Bey were elected as board members. It is known that the first chairman of his establishment in 1886 was Hasib Bey. However, since the archives of the Chamber until the 1940s were damaged, the information of the next president and members is unfortunately not clear.
