About Official Spanish Chamber Of Commerce In Italy

The Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Italy , founded in 1953, was born from a need of the moment, supported by the then Commercial Councilor of the Spanish Embassy in Rome, Mr. Jaime Alba Delibes. The goal was to create a Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Italy that would take care of promoting commercial relations between Italian and Spanish entrepreneurs and act as a support to them, also enhancing the increase in commercial exchanges between the two countries.

On November 6, 1953, therefore, through an agreement entered into before a notary in Rome, our Chamber of Commerce was established, which has its first legal domicile in Rome, taking on the legal form of “Association of private individuals”, but destined for Milan its operational headquarters, the General Secretariat. The first president was Mr. Roberto Balbontín. General Secretary since the foundation and for over thirty years it has been Mr. Pedro Rueda.
