Created by decree of the Governor General dated December 23, 1908 in Grand-Bassam, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire is an organization responsible for representing the interests of commercial, industrial and service companies, ensuring training entrepreneurs and providing business support. On May 17, 1963, the Chambers of Industry and the Chambers of Agriculture were organized separately by decree. However, the strong intertwining between industry and commerce led, on January 8, 1992, the Ivorian government to group these activities together in the same chamber placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire is administered by business leaders elected by their peers, and has a permanent organization chaired since August 23 by Faman TOURE.
