About The Indian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong

The Indian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong, was established on 12 December 1952 by ten visionary and pioneering Indian businessmen and has been serving the Indian business community with distinction. The more important among the objectives of the Chamber, as outlined in the Memorandum of Association are :

  1. To promote and protect foreign trade, investments, commerce, services industry, shipping and manufactures of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and People’s Republic of China;
  2. To represent and express the views of Indian community on matters of commercial interest;
  3. To promote, support or oppose legislative or other measures affecting such trade, commerce, investments, services industry, shipping and manufactures;
  4. To consider investigate and enquire into all questions connected with such trade, commerce, shipping and manufactures;
  5. To undertake arbitration of the settlement of disputes arising out of trade, commerce, shipping, investments and manufacture.

The Chamber acts as an interface between the Hong Kong Indian business community and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Chamber is represented on a number of official and non-official consultative and coordinating bodies and is regularly consulted by the Hong Kong SAR Government on matters of importance in the areas of Trade, Commerce, Shipping and Manufactures.
