OUR MISSION

Created in 1947, the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts is the national employers’ association; it brings together the professional structures of the various non-agricultural economic sectors (Industry, Trade, Services, Crafts and Small Trades).

UTICA represents nearly 150,000 private companies from all sectors of activity (with the exception of Tourism and the banking and financial sector). The majority of these member companies are made up of small and medium-sized enterprises. UTICA has more than 25,000 union officials.

Our mission revolves around actions aimed at promoting and energizing the private sector, while being the spokesperson for companies with public authorities. Concretely, this consists of:

  • Federate Tunisian companies in the private sector and develop an extensive professional network, acting for the promotion of different economic sectors.
  • Encourage and incentivize investment, innovation and value creation. And this, through the establishment of a strategy and an action program aimed at establishing an economic and social climate conducive to regional, national and international development.
  • Accompany companies by providing them with support, advice and information.
  • Represent companies before public authorities and defend their interests during social negotiations.
  • Boost the Tunisian economy by actively participating, with the public authorities, in the development and implementation of an economic and social policy favorable to the growth and development of the various economic agents.
  • Promote the image of the country beyond the borders and develop the international partnership.
