TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce submitted questions to all candidates seeking the office of Mayor and City Council and made the candidate responses available on Wednesday evening.

“One of the key benefits of Chamber membership is our active role in advocating on behalf of the business community,” according to the introduction of the questions and responses. “As a connector between business and government, the Chamber collected questions from our members for candidates running for City Council and Mayor.”

According to TACC officials, the questions were compiled into a formal questionnaire which was sent to all candidates with a clear deadline and multiple reminders.

“This document includes the full set of questions and responses received,” Chamber officials said.

The questionnaire focused strictly on issues of concern from the business community in Trussville and almost all candidates provided detailed answers to each question.

“Please note that some topics of interest may not be reflected here, as this effort focused solely on issues raised by the business community,” the questionnaire noted. “Resident-focused questions,
while important, were not included as this initiative was conducted specifically on behalf of our business members.”

Questions ranged from very broad-based views on “vision for Trussville’s future”to very specific questions on the candidates’ position on “increasing the city sales tax.”
