Founded in October 1988, shanwei federation of industry and commerce was approved by shanwei municipal committee of the communist party of China in 1993. By the end of 2012, there were more than 2,790 members with private enterprises as the main body in the city, including 5 county-level federation of industry and commerce (chamber of commerce) organizations and 8 trade chamber of commerce associations. There are 5 Chambers of commerce directly under the municipal federation of industry and commerce. Among the members of the federation of industry and commerce, there are 2 deputies to the National People’s Congress, 2 deputies to the provincial people’s congress, 4 CPPCC members, 83 deputies to prefecture-level cities and county-level people’s congresses, and 252 CPPCC members.
