Chamber ensemble presents Rhapsodies and Romances

Everyone needs a little romance in their life.  And Pacific Chamber Players are providing just that in their next concert series.

The Sunshine Coast’s popular chamber ensemble of 24 years will be presenting Romances by Elgar, Bruch and Australian composer Noel Fidge.  To spice up the program Loeffler’s Two Rhapsodies explore the emotions written in Philip Hale’s poems The Pool and The Bagpipe.

Another Fidge work, Walkin’ with Raphy, takes us on a walk with his ever-faithful border collie “Raphy”.  Both works by Noel Fidge are world premieres!

And no romantic program can be without Gershwin’s Our Love is Here to Stay and ‘S Wonderful.

One person’s feedback from a recent concert said it all: “Your concert in Palmwoods yesterday was truly beautiful, such brilliant individual playing and ensemble work.  I’m still floating. I can’t recall ever hearing such a sensitive and moving performance of Schubert.”

Come and join the afternoon of lush romantic music 2.30pm Saturday 9 August at Palmwoods Memorial Hall and Sunday 10 August at Cooroy Memorial Hall.
