The Encinitas Chamber of Commerce’s 28th Annual Salute to Education took place May 15 at the headquarters of founding sponsor Rancho Santa Fe Security Systems. Each year, the event highlights outstanding achievements by students and teachers from public and private Encinitas schools.

In addition, this year eight Rising Star high school students received $1,000 scholarships at the event, according to a chamber news release.

The 2025 Rising Star seniors that received scholarships were Koushik Jandhyala: Canyon Crest Academy, Riley Platenburg: La Costa Canyon High School, Angelly Zepeda: San Dieguito Academy, Joel Perez: San Dieguito Academy, Olivia Lupson-Armstrong: San Dieguito Academy, Lia Doainiss: Sunset High School, Kyson Hansen: Torrey Pines High School and Gary Ying: Torrey Pines High School.

The chamber said in the news release that it “wants to thank founding sponsor Rancho Santa Fe Security Systems and Rising Star Scholarship sponsors Victor and Jeanne Orphan with The Coastal Community Foundation/San Diego Foundation as well as individual donors.”
