Doğanhisar BC was founded under the name of Metyos. The grave of Seyyid Ahmet, who was martyred in the battles of the Umayyad and Abbasid armies in 704-708 AD, which was taken over by the Byzantine Empire in the year AD, is located in Kızılışık Mevkii. After the Seljuks spread to the west following the Battle of Malazgirt in 1071, Doğanhisar passed under Turkish rule. The name of the city was changed to AN DOĞAN CASTLE ası in reference to the DOĞAN bird. It was later renamed Doğanhisar.
