ABOUT THE JARA

The Japan Robot Association was formed in March 1971 as the Industrial Robot Conversazione, a voluntary organization. The Conversazione was reorganized into the Japan Industrial Robot Association in October 1972, and the Association was formally incorporated in October 1973. The present name was adopted in June 1994 in order to accommodate non-industrial robots such as ‘personal robots.’ The Association aims to further the development of the robot manufacturing industry by encouraging research and development on robots and associated system products and promoting the use of robot technology. Through this, the Association strives to promote the use of advanced technology in industry and to enhance the welfare of the nation, in turn contributing to healthy economic growth and boosting living standards.
