MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION

The Nordic Chamber in Indonesia or NordCham is a membership organization helping Nordic companies with a strong interest in Indonesia.

NordCham launched on 9th September 2019.
Setting up and operating an Indonesian not-for-profit organization is quite challenging and takes a long time.
This is likely due to Indonesian not-for-profit laws being a bit outdated.

Indonesian company laws, on the other hand, have been modernized significantly in recent years.
With this in mind, we set up NordCham as a Singapore company (NordCham Pte. Ltd.), with a local partner in Indonesia (PT RIS), This is a similar setup to most Nordic companies present in Indonesia.
We also paid for a legal opinion from a reputable Indonesian law firm to make sure this setup is legal.
The plan is to set up an Indonesian legal entity in the future, after some time of successful operation.
The Covid-19 pandemic, unfortunately, forced us to postpone this plan.
