In Ottoman society, the idea of the Chamber came to the fore with the westernization movement. The Reform Edict of 1856, which contained a series of reforms and innovations, revealed the necessity of organizing and organizing chambers. In accordance with the edict, the chambers were published and the chambers started to be established. First, Tarsus Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1879, followed by the Chambers established in Istanbul in 1882 and Izmir in 1885.
