Talisay City Chamber to launch new programs to attract investors

TWO new initiatives aimed at boosting investor confidence and sharpening Talisay’s competitiveness as a business hub are set to roll out under the city’s Chamber of Commerce, with potential to attract fresh capital and create a stronger environment for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Talisay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) unveiled the programs during the induction of its new officers on Aug. 11, 2025, with president Macario “Carl” Cabusas II saying the focus will be on turning practical initiatives into measurable gains for local businesses.
The first initiative, “Talisay Business Month,” will debut in October as the city’s first month-long celebration of enterprise and innovation. Scheduled every weekend, the event will feature trade fairs, exhibits, business forums and networking activities designed to showcase Talisay’s homegrown industries and attract outside investors.
Cabusas said the program aims to promote local pride while strengthening the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The second project, “Project Alpha: Talisay Towards the Future,” will convene a multidisciplinary think tank of economists, urban planners, environmentalists, IT specialists, educators and entrepreneurs. The group will assess Talisay’s economic strengths and challenges to produce data-driven strategies for positioning the city as a “future-ready” investment destination.
Cabusas described Project Alpha as a planning hub that can guide both government and private sector efforts in targeting strategic investments.
The TCCI’s new leadership team, which includes vice presidents Lendice Marie Cal and Rey Nerius Calooy, Treasurer Kenneith Ngosiok and secretary Atty. Julius Ybarita, has committed to working closely with city officials to implement the programs.
Talisay Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas welcomed the chamber’s initiatives, noting that they align with Talisay’s long-term growth priorities. Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Cebu vice president for the Visayas Melanie Ng also expressed support, emphasizing the value of private-public collaboration in driving economic growth.
