The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AmCham) will Host the “2025 Washington Door Knock” Program

The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AmCham) will host the “2025 Washington Door Knock” program, an annual event in Washington, D.C., from the 10th to the 12th (local time).

This visit is the first visit to the U.S. by a private economic mission since the launch of the new government in both South Korea and the U.S. It is expected to serve as an opportunity to explore a new direction for economic cooperation between the two countries in the changing global economic environment.

The Amcham delegation consisted of about 20 senior executives from major global companies active in Korea, including Amazon Web Services, Bloom Energy, Corning, Coupang, Google, Hyundai Motor Group, Kim & Chang Law Office, LG CNS, Lockheed Martin, POSCO Group, and Samil PwC.

The delegation will meet with key figures of the Trump administration, including the White House, the State Department, and the U.S. Congress, to discuss ▲ expanding cooperation in advanced strategic industries such as semiconductors and AI ▲ stabilizing supply chains ▲ improving the trade and investment environment. In addition, representatives from various industries such as advanced manufacturing, digital technology, energy, mobility, healthcare, defense, and finance will participate to deliver a joint message to strengthen practical and sustainable economic cooperation between the two countries.

“At a time when the two countries are preparing a new economic policy stance, we will lay the foundation for practical cooperation through the voices of the private sector,” Amcham said.

James Kim, chairman and CEO of AmCham, said, “This year’s Doornock is meaningful as it will be held at an important time to prepare a new turning point for economic cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. This visit, which takes place shortly after the launch of the new Korean government, is a very timely opportunity to directly convey the positions of U.S. companies in South Korea to U.S. policymakers.”

“As cooperation between the two countries is expanding around strategic industries such as semiconductors and AI, the role of the private sector is more important than ever,” he said. “AmCham will continue to work closely with the two governments to establish sustainable public-private partnerships.”

In addition, Amcham will urge the US government to actively participate through this door knock ahead of the APEC summit in Gyeongju in October. It also plans to emphasize the need to harmonize regulations and expand economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
